If you're from anywhere on the planet, you already know the name. Sephiroth. A man who needs no introduction. Even people who have never interacted with a member of SOLDIER in their life talk about him like he's a living myth.

SOLDIER First Class... no, THE SOLDIER First Class. Employees whisper about him during work, Thirds and infantry straighten up at the mere mention of his name, posters of him get grabbed from Shinra's recruitment stands before an hour goes by. On the Midgar Train, you always overhear someone saying they saw him once and that "he's taller than they say" or "the TV doesn't do him justice" or "his voice is so much softer than you think"... What a dreamboat!

You hear so many rumors about him, but the stuff we know to be true is impressive! He turned the tide of the Wutai war singlehandedly. He completes missions that nobody else takes. Every report (either official or erm... accidentally leaked) says that fights are completed with absolute precision. But lets debunk something real quick! Some people are saying that he's not human, that it's impossible for a normal person to move like that but that's just online rumor nonsense! He's that good because he's trained harder than everyone else!

If you see Sephiroth in person, count yourself lucky! We usually only see him in high-security mission, official Shinra events, or recorded interviews! I've seen people freeze in his presence, not out of fear of course, but out of sheer awe. There's something so... mysterious about his presence, like the air itself is holding for him.
A friend of mine swears that Sephiroth once nodded at her during a parade! Maybe he did, maybe he didn't... who knows!
